Meet Kit.

Her love for the outdoors has lead Kit to many wild places—rugged rivers in Idaho, snow-capped landscapes in Alaska, and remote woodlands in Northern Maine. As a four-season athlete, writer, and wanderer, Kit seeks to share her passion for exploration with anyone willing to lace up a pair of boots.

Wild Women: a look at outdoor literature and the women who write about the wilderness
(MFA Presentation, USM)

In this seminar, we will be taking a look at outdoor literature written by women and the questions, criticism, or stereotypes they’ve faced in telling their story. We will discuss the boundaries that are still being broken as more and more women claim their right to exist in the outdoors, and the lengths they’ve gone to in their fight for equality. This seminar will explore how outdoor literature written by women addresses the greater complications of gender relations in our modern culture.
